Title processing for Memphis and Shelby County offices

The Agee family's title work started in Memphis. Today we do back-office processing for Memphis-area title agencies and closing attorneys, on your files and in your systems.

We are not a lender, mortgage broker or loan servicer. We don't issue title insurance or give legal advice. Licensed signatures, notarizing and closings stay with you.

Memphis roots

Parker Agee's grandfather, Walter Agee, started the original Real Estate Loan Services in Memphis in 1971. Parker's father, Thomas Agee, started Mid-America Title Agency, where Parker worked from 2006 to 2013. Today's Real Estate Loan Services is a new company from Agee Ventures, LLC that carries the name forward. It is not the original company or its successor. Read the family story.

Shelby County Register of Deeds notes

  • E-filing requires an e-file account. The Register accepts e-filing through vendors from submitters with an account, set up with an ACH form. Under state law only licensed attorneys, title agents and companies, banks and certain lenders, and government entities may e-file, so the account is yours and we prepare the packages in it.
  • Individuals can't e-file. The Register directs individuals to a real estate professional who already has an e-file account, so for-sale-by-owner and family transfers often reach attorneys' offices.
  • Free document images. Many recorded documents can be viewed and copied on the Register's website at no charge, which helps when we're pulling prior deeds and releases for your examiner.
  • Not every lien is at the Register. The Register notes that some liens and judgments are filed with the courts, so a search needs more than the deed books.
  • Heirship. The Register's FAQ says that when no will is probated, Tennessee requires one Affidavit of Heirship filed with the Register, and that most title companies prefer three when the property is later sold. We track those requirements on estate files.
  • Locations. Main office on Mullins Station Road, plus Downtown and Whitehaven offices and a separate archives office.

Around Memphis

Files in Fayette, Tipton and Lauderdale counties record in their own counties, not Shelby. As of October 2026, CSC listed Lauderdale in its e-recording network but not Fayette or Tipton; other vendors may serve those counties, and we confirm on the file. Property across the state line in Mississippi or Arkansas is outside what we do.
